• In the corporate sector, a leadership vacuum is projected, as well. The demand for talented 35- to 45-year-olds will increase 25 percent over the next three decades—but the supply will decrease by 15 percent.
• In contrast, the number of workers aged 55 and higher is projected to grow at a rate four times the projected growth for the labor force overall.
• And who are the people in leadership positions in both the public and private sectors? The lion’s share is of the generation that roared: the boomers. The average age of a CEO is 56, and more than three out of five of the nation’s leaders are boomers.
