Amanda Sobanet brings a decade of experience in aging-related issues. A vice president with Fleishman-Hillard’s (FH) consumer practice, she has worked for clients such as AARP, the Administration on Aging (AoA), and the Library of Congress.
Ms. Sobanet specializes in third-party outreach, writing and research. She conducted much of the research that informed AARP’s Voices of Civil Rights campaign, and which resulted in eight industry accolades. Most recently, she provided on-site support to AARP’s media team, working there as a FH consultant. During this time, she helped AARP with a variety of media and branding-related initiatives.
Ms. Sobanet came to FH with expertise in long-term care issues, having served as communications & marketing manager at The American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA). There, she was heavily involved in strategic planning and branding efforts, wrote feature articles for the organization’s magazine FutureAge (then titled Best Practices), implemented a bimonthly e-newsletter, developed an array of collateral materials, and worked closely with the media.
Ms. Sobanet holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Vanderbilt University. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband Andrew Sobanet, Ph.D. They are both from Generation X.
