Whitepaper: Boomer Women’s Search for Meaning
Marketers and scholars alike are rushing to fill in what was once a vast wasteland: the notion of continued adult development for men and women 42+. Dr. Carol Orsborn of FH Boom and Dr. Jimmy Laura Smull are doing groundbreaking work by connecting the dots between adult development, ritual studies, motivational marketing and the boomer marketplace.
This original research was first presented at the fall Colloquium for UCLA’s Center for the Study of Religion, October 5, 2005, Los Angeles, California, Dr. Myrna Hant, respondent. In addition to her role as thought leader with FH Boom, Dr. Orsborn is a research associate with UCLA. The whitepaper following forms the basis for a motivational research study that applied the findings to marketers, the flavor of which is captured in Chapter Four “She’s Motivated: The 3-D View of Her” of BOOM: Marketing to the Ultimate Power Consumer—The Baby Boomer Woman by Mary Brown and Carol Orsborn, Ph.D. (Amacom Books.) For consistency’s sake, the three stages in the UCLA study have been updated to match the stage names as shared in BOOM.
