Nancy Bauer leads the consumer-marketing team at the Atlanta office of Fleishman-Hillard. As creative director, she serves as a valuable resource to Atlanta and to Fleishman-Hillard locations around the world. She also is the senior counselor to brands such as Viking Range Corp., Delta Air Lines, Omaha Steaks, Benihana restaurants, Morande wines, and Ted’s Montana Grill.
Ms. Bauer, who has more than 25 years of experience in public relations, serves as a senior counselor to clients. She has particular expertise in creating and marketing strategic alliances. Such alliances occur when two companies team up for mutually beneficial marketing programs. She has developed programs for clients with Disney, Martha Stewart Living, The Food Network, Gourmet magazine, and Faith Popcorn’s BrainReserve, among others. In addition, she has a depth of experience in marketing to the highly affluent, and she is adept at maintaining long-term brand insistence through the media and influencers.
During her career in public relations and marketing, Ms. Bauer has gained considerable sports-marketing experience with the United States Wrestling Team and additional experience ranging from the development of exhibition events with the Russian team in Madison Square Garden to the launch of the United States Basketball League with Walt Frazier and Earl Monroe. She has also managed projects with sports organizations such as Major League Baseball and the U.S. Tennis Association. In addition, she has worked on sporting events such as the “The Cannonball Run, Lap Around America” road race and numerous hot-air ballooning events throughout the United States and Europe. Her sports clients have included Prince Tennis, the United States Basketball League, and the ESPN “Running and Racing” series, among others.
Ms. Bauer began her public relations career in publishing public relations in New York City. An entrepreneur and business owner, she opened her own marketing communications firm in New York City that specialized in lifestyle consumer products. Five years later, she sold the firm to Porter Novelli, an Omnicom International public relations agency.
Before joining Fleishman-Hillard Atlanta, Ms. Bauer was the director of the enterprise book division of Longstreet Press, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cox Communications. The division published coffee-table books on U.S. cities in conjunction with chambers of commerce and economic-development councils throughout the United States.
Ms. Bauer has traveled extensively throughout South America, the former Soviet Union, India, and Europe. She is a member of the Atlanta Women’s Network, Les Dames d’Escoffier International, and the Association of International Food and Wine and serves on the marketing committee of the Atlanta International School.
Ms. Bauer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and Spanish from West Virginia University and a Master of Arts degree in urban affairs and policy analysis from the New School for Social Research in New York City. She is fluent in Spanish and was a member of a Peace Corps program in Iquitos, Peru.
