Welcome to my world that was. My entire life, my brother was the anointed child and all I needed to do was get married and procreate. Maybe no pressure – but also no motivation. Our parents are sadly gone but until recently, I carried their definition of the good woman, the good wife and mother in my briefcase along with client reports, new business proposals and staff reviews. I tried to straddle the world as they defined it and my life as I wanted it.
The lesson here is to learn how to redistribute the weight or the straps will break, the lock come undone and all your precious work become scrap in the wind. Or it may be those you stimulate to achieve success in their own worlds – whether as the first woman president or as a role model to the women who follow.
