Death be not a Boomer: A group that won't go quietly
Frederick R. Lynch
Chicago Tribune
April 12, 2007

Overview: Lynch reports, “Americans historically have been a death-denying people, but the aging of Baby Boomers may change all that.” He goes on to say, “A generation of savvy consumers is turning its sharp shopping skills toward conventional and alternative health care -- and meeting eager marketers. Nightly TV newscasts mix special reports on chronic-disease treatment with advertisements for pharmaceuticals and other health-care products. Hundreds of Web sites cater to Boomers' hunger for health-care information.” Lynch ends the article saying, “The 1960s anti-war chant of ‘Hell no, we won't go!’ seems futile for a 50-something generation. And ‘Peace now!’ takes on a new and more menacing meaning altogether.”
