Boomers: Whimpers or Bangs?
Felicia R. Lee
New York Times

The documentary “explores how life after 60 might look to the generation known for challenging authority and redefining everything from race relations to marriage.” Lee reports that the documentary will answer questions such as, “Will the boomers quietly — and uncharacteristically — get off the stage and leave the messy questions about the environment and the social safety network to the youngsters? Or as science extends life, will they lead the charge in reshaping notions of age in the 21st century?”

Silver market is about to set the gold standard
Collette Douglas Home
The Herald
March 26, 2007
Overview: Home reflects on UK baby boomers and compares the demographic to American baby boomers. Specifically she writes, “Now I and my generation are on the brink of redefining growing old. The silver revolution is already under way in America, and when America sneezes, we get flu. It can't happen too soon.” Moreover, “What the statistics don't take into account is the revolution in attitude which the baby-boomers are about to demonstrate. If the newly-retired and soon-to-be-retired hold true to their history, the notion of old age is on the brink of reinvention. The baby-boomers have challenged orthodoxy at every stage in their lives. Do you think they'll stop in older age? I don't.”
