Seniorscopie.com
March 21, 2007

Overview: This piece is focused on the Australian Financial Review article, "Taking control to new heights," originally published on March 13, 2007. The article discusses the trend of Australian boomers acting as “helicopter parents.” Specifically, “Helicopter parents are overprotective baby boomers (aged 43 to 61) and older generation Xs (29 to 42), who may make a searing call to a university lecturer when an assignment gets less than the desired mark. They may also make the first approach to prospective employers and take an active role in salary negotiations for their adult offspring. There have also been isolated cases of recruits bringing their parents to their job interviews.”
